Easy Slat Wall

This is a super beginner friendly DIY and if you have the time, can be done in a couple weekends (picking the design was the hardest part of this project :)).
I started by skim-coating the wall, mixed the drywall mixture with water and did about 2 coats total, 3 on those that still had some texture popping out. Afterwards, I used my drywall sanding attachment for my dry-vac and sanded it until it was smooth. Next, I used 1x2's and measured and cut each one with my miter saw. I grabbed a picture frame that was about the width I wanted my spaces and used that as my guide. I measured the length of the wall before I cut each piece because not all walls are level.
Once I cut those down, I made sure the planks were level and nailed them in; then it was time for finishing. I wood filled and caulked, filling in the areas with tissues (hehe) when needed. Next, prime and paint! Super easy!
